Situated in the last village in the Haute Vienne (Furthest South of the Limousin) bordering the Dordogne, it is nestled 30 minutes from the capital of the area - Limoges, and 30 minutes from the famous Perigueux. The house was bought needing renovation. It sits in what was one acre of un-kept farming land, contains three barns - one adjoining the house, a large barn waiting to be converted into 4 large gites, and an out house used as a wood store - now converted into a pool and gymnasium.
The Facts

Two wood fires were installed to heat the property throughout the winter months (oil central heating is fitted throughout the house but oil is much more expensive than wood - you can now buy dual fuel central heating that burns both wood and oil to keep the costs to a minimum) and a brass of oak would cost around 130 euros (a family of 4 would use approximately 2 brass per year).
